This. It's not only about being forced to work in a poor manner. I've been previously pressured into outright bad technical decisions because of this. And it's not just time pressure it can be plain power game - as it was with the bad technical decision I had to make.

I guess it's not clear what Dave means by KNOW. I assumed they've experienced it outside of their current job.

In some countries they never took off. I know that there were some cheques used where I'm from in like the post WW2 era. But I have never even seen a real cheque in my life nor any of my older relatives. (Czech Republic)
