Your music fucking rocks. Thank you for making it

Yeah... You're totally right, this Scotsman is definitely not a true one. /s

... Don't talk about food. At Thanksgiving. Are you high?

Wow, what a well-informed and nuanced take. All the stories of medical research, historical restorations, advanced interactive UIs, visual and audio recognition systems and technologies for people with disabilities, and about a hundred other projects and uses must be AI generated.

I like generative AI, too bad it's turning out that humanity isn't wise or responsible enough to keep from using it in the stupidest, most evil ways possible, or even enforce any consequences to those that do.

This article might as well be written by the guy that thought Gemini (or LaMDA) had a soul. If you're worried about chatbot consent, it's already a form of slavery, don't need to say more. Half of this article is based on an argument that we have to humor people based on feelings instead of facts.

Yeah, you're right, I somehow got the idea that they actually created the fake project to test things... I'm an idiot for missing that setup, but it's also insane to present an argument using experiences while compressing and abstracting them. How do you believe any of their personal claims?
October 8, 2025 at 7:01 PM
Hmm... It didn't seem that way. They specifically say they found a YouTube video about brown dwarfs that included the information they had weeded out, with a certain number of views. I was curious, so I stopped the video to go look for it and couldn't find it on YouTube or their sources page.
October 8, 2025 at 10:38 AM
Can you link the AI brown dwarf video you found, or even dm the link if you don't want to send traffic that way? I can't find anything like that on YouTube, and it isn't on the source page for your video.

The President of the United States saying vaccines and drugs cause autism in the face of centuries of evidence is bad, but the lack of reaction ... disbelief, outrage, calls for removal, even acknowledgement, is so much worse...

I don't get it. If you are the kind of person or publisher that makes historical nonfiction, you have to know that people aren't going to react well to an AI generated photo as your cover... Who in the line of people creating this was so out of touch they decided it or allowed it?

"we are incompetent and it's your fault for not giving us money." ... Maybe don't offer a product if you can't afford to make sure it's decent. Maybe figure out how to make money from it in advance, instead of cheating out and whining when you fail at monetizing.
September 12, 2025 at 10:20 PM
Who are the people that everyone seems to be following that are showing you this stuff? I haven't seen it once on any of my feeds or news sources... Maybe you should unfollow these people and sources. Complaining about it with no consequences is how we got here.

I don't think students are dumb enough to think that chatting with a dynamic AI character of a historical figure that can answer questions makes any difference to the real life death of that figure. The usefulness of something like that is dependent on quality, but that's a ridiculous argument.

I honestly don't understand the motivation, even for religious folks... Intertwining faith and government doesn't help either- does anyone want government control of their religion or vice-versa? In the long run nobody wins but a few people at the top taking advantage of both.

On a different note, if you ever visit Utah, anyone that reads the Deseret News over the Tribune should probably be suspect for some weirdness or abuse. Anyone that writes for them should DEFINITELY be suspect.

If I know my Mormons (and I've grown up and lived surrounded by them) the excuses will be as follows:
- the cop honeypotted and pressured him, it's entrapment
- he's old and it wasn't that long ago that 14 was considered marryable age
- it was a lapse in judgement/demons, he needs support, not hate

I'm sure glad us skeptics don't make wild, broad generalizations about a topic, based on headlines, while deliberately ignoring anything that detracts from our knee jerk opinion. It would be a shame if we ignored all applications of a new tech, just cause we don't like one specific way it's used.

I know quite a bit about language models, and I know that a general use model like ChatGTP is not vetting sources and verifying information, even if it's not hallucinating... If you're actually advocating using it for something serious like investing... That's a wild take.
August 21, 2025 at 1:51 AM
No joke, my dad told me this week he is considering pulling his retirement and using AI to pick stocks to put the money into... Like... Not even specialized stock programs, just chatGTP. He used to help manufacture microprocessors... wtf happens to old people?

Someone that knows the authorities might quash the information or even punish or retaliate against them?
August 7, 2025 at 10:19 PM
Ffs, these replies...how many people here have a job they can just walk away from? I would love to tell a boss off and walk out if they pulled this crap too, but bills, and insurance, and dependents and no magic new job lined up. It's insidious because it is a captive audience in a power imbalance.

I don't think I'll ever look at the people around me the same again, knowing that so many voted for, or didn't stop, the old man that screams obscenities and racist conspiracies at people walking by his lawn, for president (twice). I can't make sense of it, it's surreal.
