Democrats had 50 years to codify Roe v. Wade into law. Plenty of Democratic presidencies, supermajorities, all to keep wedge issues like reproductive rights & LGBT rights from moving, always in just enough danger to earn them votes & donations. Rotating villains

Most Republicans have it pre-programmed into them that Democrats are the enemy, they are the left, they are communists, etc. and wouldn't vote for one to save their own farm. But Democrats are capitalists, and moving too far left to maintain the current status quo is their actual biggest fear.

I doubt that last part very much. January 6th was a bunch of drooling dropouts mad about election results. You see people standing up to ICE everywhere who will not simply watch Democracy die just because congress would.
