Thinking about making another side table like this one that I finished a few months ago, but as a record player stand. The bottom would be semi-enclosed for vinyl records, and the squares below the top would be integrated speakers. I'm no audiophile, but this would be a fun build.

I made a fancy laundry sorter in a basket weave pattern with quarter sawn sapele. The top panels are sapele pommele veneer. Not so fancy to make sorting laundry fun, but fancier than sorting it on the bed.

I made a little walnut shadow box for some ceramic flowers. The maple splines in the corners form a crisscross pattern.

I love them too! But I can’t really use the ones I made until the upholsterer finishes the leather cushions. 2-3 months :(

They are pretty to look at though.

The console table is all finished and in its home next to the morris chairs.

Making a fancy console table out of white oak with a clay accent tile to go with some morris chairs I recently finished..

Testing out different dye and gel stain combinations for these white oak morris chairs. I think the overly red ones are out, but I’m having trouble narrowing it down further. The left side of each board also has a coat of amber shellac. They don’t have to match and existing piece.

Still a ton of shaping, sanding, glue-ups, and finishing in my future, but these white oak morris chairs are turning out pretty sweet.

Hey, me too!

Rough milling a bunch of quarter sawn white oak for two morris chairs plus a stool. These will probably take me a while to complete, but judging from the rays flecks, they should look awesome.

Not quite done (still need to make the lower drawers), but this Greene & Greene inspired hall tree is complete enough for the kiddos to start throwing their coats and bags on it. I used quartersawn sapele with ebony plugs. #woodworking

The top cubby section of this Greene & Greene style hall tree is finally done! I used sapele with 1/4” ebony plugs. The middle rail will have some heavy duty iron hooks. The bottom bench section is still being assembled and will have two drawers with the same tapered stiles, and plugs.

What grits do you use? All of them. Plus some polishing compound.

Practicing some Greene & Greene style ebony plugs on a scrap of sapele for a hall tree I’m building. Not too difficult, but I think I can polish that ebony up some more.

Trying to make a dent in these strips of offcuts.

So…… coaster time!

My neighbor asked for an extra large cribbage board as a gift for a friend. Asked and delivered :)

Made from some quarter sawn white oak and walnut cutoffs I had. Finished with Waterlox and Renaissance wax. It pivots on a dowel in the center and the magnets hold the top in place.

How it started and how it ended, with a bunch of sawdust in between. My split top roubo bench I completed a few months ago.

A cutting board I made for my mother LAST Christmas, which she has refused to use for actually cutting stuff.

Ah. So the scourge of violent migrant crime and fentanyl is coming from… Canada eh?

Ya, I was surprised at that too. Here is another sapele frame that came out lighter and more in line with other sapele stuff I've done. Must have just been a really dark board.
