Congrats on finding that spark again and thank you for sharing words of encouragement.

I've felt stuck for a very long time as an actor. The bit at the end about "someone will hear you" was very much needed. Thank you.

Looking forward to hearing your awesome performance 🥳

If after a fair trial and conviction you want to throw him in jail for life, sure.

But if you're indifferent to the possibily of him being killed whilst having outcried there's "no place for political violence" you never cared about violence to begin with. You just wanted it only pointed downward.

Btw, if you're looking for more Canadian talent, I made a starter pack a little while back. It's by no means a complete list, but hopefully it'll help you regardless ^^

I'd always hoped I'd get to be in something made by Nelvana. They were my favorite studio and one of the few I could realistically aim to work for as a Canadian talent. Now I never will. That dream is dead.

Thank you Nelvana. For everything. You will be missed but not forgotten.

Nelvana had a hand in the majority of shows I grew up watching and most certainly the majority of the ones I remember most. They were there to distract me from all the horrible things going on at school. They helped develop my imaginations and ideas for storytelling.

This is a great opportunity to remind people I made a Canadian Voice Actor pack. If you were previously concerned it'd be a lot of paperwork to hire remote VA talent from Canada, good news! It's not.

Woot! Congrats to everyone who was cast, they all sound amazing. It must of been really hard narrowing it down to a small group of very talented people.

Hope you continue making cool games. Excited to see what you guys do next

The reason people say "auditioning is the job" is because auditioning is how nearly everyone books 85-90% of their work.

If you're finding you're only auditioning 10% of the time, I'm so happy for you! Truly, you're killing it and I'm proud of you. Please don't pass it off as sage advice though.

Everyone has a different path and experience in VO and while there's nothing wrong with that, I think passing this stuff off as advice to people without considering that it actually revolves around being extremely lucky and fortunate is a bit short-sighted.

More over, you shouldn't have any expectation people will refer you or that someone will stumble across your demo/website and offer you a role. Those things are completely out of your control and are far more luck or chance than anything. They're not part of your job or even part of the work you do.
August 18, 2025 at 3:32 PM
I feel like all of these are the result of work and not actually part of the job themselves though. For sure some clients will occasionally reach out again and people who have seen your work will get in touch, but often times you still have to audition for them.

Any time a game gives me choices and one of them is objectively the "wrong" choice, I feel like I'm being punished unless I get something in return - especially as most "right" choices in games are a blind guess. If I'm going burn the orphanage down, at least give me something useful as a memento.

Damn, I love seeing all see each day. Such talented voice actors and great looking characters
