It's funny but sad to see a series that was once good and beloved and as someone who was there during the peak years of COD, I just kind of wish they just bury the series in it's grave as we already have better FPS games that are not only better but free to play as well.

At this point, I'm so fucking glad I have games like Deltarune and even Isaac and such that I can continue following that provided great stories because if I kept being around the large company games, I would hate video games anymore.

and how they shaped the whole Metroidvania genre in general. Metroid has such a grip on the hardcore gamers and indie devs, I can understand your frustrations as someone who ahsn't really played through these games.

to the fucking ground all because companies became too big and started to play the safer and more trying to be broader. Metroid has always been a Niche series and one of the lesser successful series that gained such a bigger following over the years because of how those games are.
