Late to the party but so awesome that System.Text.Json supports polymorphic de-/serialization since .NET 7 via the JsonDerivedType attribute.

Creating code like this that just works is so simple, yet elegant.
C# code showing 4 record classes. The first record receiving an abstract record class as an argument. The abstract record class has the JsonDerivedType attribute applied with derived type and type discriminator set for each implementing types. And 2 records implementing the abstract record.
