Then I kept going.
Think i'm going to tone down the brightness level a bit on the backgrounds going forward, but overall? Not unhappy with how this turned out.

I'm making an effort to do digital art and make use of this tablet. After SO MANY failed attempts, I think I'm getting the hang of it, and here's my first piece that I'm happy with. #art #furry #furryart - turns out, a good tablet can make all the difference, although Krita is a pain in my neck :)

Oh hey. My posting schedule basically... doesn't exist, i'm taking it easy and not stressing myself out :) Anyway, here's another that I completed; Lola "Scar" Durant, try not to focus too much on the hands (AI 'aint got nothing on how bad *I* can draw hands!) and enjoy :)

What a journey this has been. I might work a bit more on the lighting (I layer colored pencil over marker for accents and highlights), but otherwise, I'm happy with how this turned out. No notes, i'm just pleased, I even have spare characters in the post!

"Charlie" Ward, a freelance reporter out for the truth and revenge for the death her sister. My challenge here was to design a character that looks enough different from my other one to be visually distinct, which... i'm working on :) Still bad at backgrounds, didn't try :D

I decided to re-draw Penny Lowell; the first was too severe and my vision was more carefree than that. I'm not unhappy with it, and this is slightly more risqué still SFW, I know), and not as NOIR, but I am so much happier with how this came out. So... bonus art!

And here is the finished piece from yesterday - I decided to keep this monochrome because A.) It fits the aesthetic, and B.) I didn't trust myself not to mess it up when I was perfectly happy with how it looks right now :) There's a lesson here that I'm sure I won't learn.

Slowing down so I don't burn out, so instead of only posting 'complete' images (not counting ones I go back on to add details to) I'm going to do WIPs as well to keep from being overwhelmed. After the rough draft, I do the linework, then this heavy shading before adding color.

I get around the problem of figuring out where a light source is coming from largely by making it up as I go and hoping nobody notices. :)

I'm running out of backlog pictures and the anxiety of having to draw to keep up an arbitrarily self-enforced deadline is looming overhead. :D Background came out pretty good in this one though, probably because I didn't try to add light sources or glows...
