Castillo has kept a low profile after his playing days, with reports of him spending time with his wife's restaurant in Florida. There is no confirmation that he appeared at any 1984 team reunions.

After his playing days, Melvin coached in the several major league teams. He was hired by the Seattle Mariners as their manager in 2003, starting a managerial career that has lasted 22 seasons. Melvin also managed the Diamondbacks, A's, Padres and Giants. He we named manager of the year 3 times.

Parrish played 9 seasons after leaving the #Tigers with Philly, California, Seattle, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, and Toronto.

After starting strong, hitting .300 for his first month with the team, he tailed off. For the season, Sanchez hit .248 with 6 HRs and 12 RBIs.

He later coached and managed the Arizona Diamondbacks. Gibson spent several years as broadcaster in Detroit and now devotes his time to running the Kirk Gibson Center for Parkinson's Wellness.

Gibson played two more years in Los Angeles. He played a year in both Kansas City and Pittsburgh and returned to Detroit for 3 final seasons, retiring after the 1995 season. He spent several years as a major league coach with the #Tigers under Alan Trammell.

Due to a knee injury, Gibson's only at-bat in that World Series resulted in a dramatic pinch-hit, game winning HR in Game 1 off Dennis Eckersley.

Kirk Gibson was declared a free agent. This time, Gibson signed with the Dodgers. In his first season in LA (1988), Kirk Gibson had an MVP season and led the Dodgers to the World Series.

Lemon did recover from this illness and spent several years in the youth baseball scene in Orlando. He eventually suffered a series of strokes that left him unable to walk or speak. Chet Lemon died on May 8, 2025, at the age of 70.
