Earth Defense Force 5. It's big, it's loud, it's stupid, and it's also enormous fun and deeper than people expect. Lots of room for exploring different tactics and tons of content makes for a good time. Have a laser mech.

Illusion of Gaia. It's a pretty decent Zelda-style adventure, with great graphics and music. However, I mostly remember it for the COMPLETELY INSANE plot. For example, the ghost of the hero's dead mother pops out of a roasted pig to talk about world peace.
