Ever spend days trying to find some info?
Then finally you explain your days of research to the internet hoping for an expert to hop on and help --- only for some yokel to do the very first search you did and post that like it's in any way useful?

AI has turned every internet interaction to that.

Out today: a major new essay by former Artforum editor David Velasco, fired over a pro-Palestine open letter, surveying 2 years of turmoil in the art world, which was "practically designed to celebrate and aestheticize every rebellion" -- except Gaza. www.equator.org/articles/how...

On one wall: A constantly updating dashboard with students' lesson completion rates and other metrics

On the other: A shop of toys (at 6x markup) they can buy with Alpha bucks, earned by hitting learning quotas

In the middle: 6 yos tapping silently away at laptops

If this story was a sci-fi movie, I would not believe it. It’s beyond insane what happened (and is happening) at these schools. Great episode
The story we chat about describes such a cruel regime of metrics, punishment, and control enacted on children that it's insane this has not sparked a bigger outrage over tech-facilitated child abuse.

I see this sort of proud posturing a lot and it's really a wonderful way to loudly demonstrate to everyone you have absolutely no idea what's going on

...Altman might think about what baby learns by dropping pizza. How do they learn so quickly from experience, not by ingesting the entire Internet and converting it into vectorized tokens, but by interaction, curiousity, and play? And again, why can AI do none of these things? 3/n

I thought I didn’t like social media, but @bsky.app is such a pleasant place! Turns out, I just don’t like right wing content or the constantly wondering if all content is AI
