😔 and on LJ fanfic and meta analysis used to be the main fanwork bc it was a text based site. Now its fanart, and I love fanart! But i think fanart becoming the main type of fanwork contributed to a bunch of problems in fandom (ppl not reading, commodification etc.)

LJ communities felt like communities. It wasn't a perfect time by any means but I think at this point we lie to ourselves if we don't think that was better idk
