I'm not really that much of an artist, but that last issue of ABSOLUTE BATMAN really made me feel inspired to try something.
Obviously based around the great @ssnyder1835.bsky.social and @nickdragotta.bsky.social design with some little changes cause bats always adapts!

The 7th issue keeps the tradition of being better than the last one.
Simply the best ongoing rn and I really don't think there is anyone that comes close.
The way the character interacts, how much you understand of every member of the team with just few pages is just stellar work.

I still find it absurd that nobody uses Duke for anything.
Batfamily member that protects the city when the sun rise up and with light related powers got so much potential as a concept.
Also I think the Ram V new status quo would've been perfect to try some story, but yeah...

Read it out of curiosity and the story continues to be quite bland, but I gotta say, from what I read, this might be Mikel Janin best work yet.

Also I really think Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou might be the best letterer in the biz.
Just look at how the lettering perfectly adapts for every art style, so good!

Definitely issue of the week for me.
Loved every dynamic and liked a lot the explanation for the 2 Wally subplot.
Spurrier shows us how he can also write, wonderfully, a more fun lighthearted adventure and the art side keeps being great!
Really happy they found this balance after the big change 1/2

I'm really loving the evolution of Pilgrim from being this mysterious and wise figure in the first arc that actually tries to be very responsible knowing that's lot at stake to now just being a silly guy😭
But jokes aside I really think he might become one of my faves if Spurrier keep using him!

Just finished these and Idk...
When the B-plot is more fun and interesting than the main one, well that's not a good sign.
For JLU, it wasn't inherently bad but definitely too cliché and derivative for one of the flagship books.
He truly might be washed.
