October Update: Despite government shutdown, Senate 2025 version of KOSA has gained 20 more cosponsors this month and passed 60 supporters. There is no House 2025 version so no need to panic right now. Keep calling your rep and senators to oppose KOSA.

I agree. I remember an October 2021 tweet that said the signatures needed total for that petition was 30,000. ACLU had years to be the leaders on this issue if they truly wanted to make an impact but it's obvious this isn't a priority for them and we can't rely solely on ACLU on this issue.

People should contact their senators and rep to oppose KOSA if they haven’t already.

2024 House co-sponsors (there is no 2025 KOSA House bill): www.congress.gov/bill/118th-c...

The House of Representatives decided to not bring KOSA to a floor vote last year. Nobody has reintroduced the bill in the House in 2025. While there is support in the Senate, KOSA has no shot at becoming a law while there is no House version.

Screencap is 2024 bill. KOSA is not going to pass any time soon. Congress has August recess, there is no House 2025 version of KOSA, and Senate's version is still in committee.

KOSA has less support now than last year. Senate 2025 version currently has 27 cosponsors compared to 2024's 72 cosponsors

2024 House version had 64 cosponsors (32 R & 32 D): www.congress.gov/bill/118th-c...

There is no 2025 House version of KOSA. There will be no KOSA while there is no House version because a bill has to pass the Senate & the House of Representatives.

2025 Senate version has 27 cosponsors (16 R & 11 D): www.congress.gov/bill/119th-c...

2024 Senate version that ultimately passed Senate in 2024 but failed to become law (due to not getting voted on in House) had 72 cosponsors (36 R, 35 D, 1 I): www.congress.gov/bill/118th-c...
