I only say this because I believe that releasing the oath keepers and the proud boys leaders is not an accident. Our leader will use their indebtedness to get them to do his bidding.

When I grew up in a dictatorship, the dictator didn’t use the country’s armed forces to do his bidding. He commanded entire battalions of paramilitary militias. Maduro has them. They’re called colectivos.

I wanted to be able to refer back to the source material. So I ordered one of the copies of the big book (not the Bible, Project 2025).

Today I willl be consulting the big book (not the Bible, Project 2025) to see what the plan is with the CDC, FDA, NIH and HHS going dark in communications with the public. I’ll report back.

News diet diary. Day 1. Limited social media and news to one hour a day. Got my actual news from Heather Cox Richardson’s Substack (for current events) and Emily Amick’s Substack (for deep dive/editorial/action items). Shared with a couple people in my inner village circle.

Took a nap. Read a book. Put dinner in the slow cooker. Hugged my family. When the thaw comes tomorrow we rejoin the outside world. It felt nice to stay home for a few days and wait out the cold.

I’ve seen wicked twice on stage - one of those in the West End. I’ve also read the book. The movie is different and superior without taking away from the magic of the stage version. Magical.

For the last 6 days, I’ve been feeling like chicken little and the falling sky. Having grown up in a dictatorship, I don’t need to imagine what the new Trump term will be like. Turns out a lot of my friends feel I’m being too negative. Even though it’s literally my life experience.
