You can do the Google Fonts using @import instead. If you go to your Appearance > Customizer > Custom CSS. You can add in the @import url('https://fonts.googleapis.com/css2?family=Fira+Sans&display=swap'); and then use the font as a font-family: "Fira Sans", sans-serif; This is just an example.
