i totally agree on the power of networking. I just struggle sometimes because I'm not in a traditional tech powerhouse region and im going to invest money this year getting to events. But man it's hard.

How can you effectively network when you're in a region that isn't tech heavy or very rural? is it worthwhile to develop a LinkedIn or social media following?

I dunno if those writers had crystal balls or were just bored analysts saying "let's turn some crazy trends into plots" but it's insane to start looking back at some of these Bond films and see how they age.

Tomorrow Never Dies is another insane one. I remember seeing the GPS spoofing and distortion and laughing, now it's a known regular occurrence. It also had South China Sea contested waters, fake news, and a billionaire trying to control global narratives through media.

I think a few of the Brosnan films have aged disturbingly well. Goldeneye had hacking, Russian military-criminal fusion, and the rise of the new oligarchy with ex-KGB showing up everywhere. We also now know Salyut-3 did indeed carry a weapon in space, USSR did have a space weapon.
