I weigh almost 250 pounds, am severely out of shape, and was unable to even lift my arm several months ago due to a fall injury.

Except my "rent" doesn't go up. My mortgage is 1/3 to 1/4 what the rent would be and that difference most likely is only going to keep growing.
My house is also over 70 years old and will still be there after I'm dead. Unless my dumb ass gets it burned down or something.

Is "Germany is back!" (a thing Merz said) and saying that should scare us really over the top? If they were saying this is early 1940's Germany, I'd agree that's over the top, but 1920's seems reasonable. The US is obviously in 1930's Germany mode.

I think it's not that the shooter was apolitical. More that, unlike past far-right shootings, their nazi beliefs weren't the main motivation. It was nihilism spurred by our unraveling society.

Sure, he's no Lenin, but I think he's generally been pretty good for the state, considering how razor-thin the majority is. Been happy voting for him since he first ran for the House.
