Blows my mind people in that temperate rainforest area just have giant (and I mean GIANT) fucking redwood trees growing right next to their houses sometimes.

One house I passed had one that was at least 1500 years old like, twenty feet from their front porch. I was just like 😟👀💖

Even when I visited Seattle for a job opportunity I never got (they paid for everything but my rental car though, so like, FREE TRIP) I saw so many cool fucking plants and trees. BUT NO ANIMALS AAAAA

I even went to places to see BOTH 😭💔

The point here is, the Midwest has like, deer and birds. That's what you see the most. I hear coyotes and foxes but sightings are rare.

I've traveled and seen a lot more cool trees and plants than animals 💀

Now, if you ask about plants and trees, I have seen and interacted with a TON more species. I've had the joy of interacting with giant cedars, Douglas pines, ponderosas and larches.

Also, rarer species around me, like ghost pipe 💖

The salamander was a SUPER rare find on a hike I took in Montana years back. Me and my classmates flipped a rock near a stream next to our camp (we were 45 minutes away from any civilization LALSJFKA) and there the little fella was!

I don't know if I have the picture anymore :(
