Hiking the endless miles. Music. Art. Literature. News and current events. Love magazines. Hooray for the pencil. Mo knows. I'm a delicate flower now.
Decided to be a pocket book note guy. I like the idea of manually noting things. Will try several paper types and formats. Pens and pencils. I purchased a note book case. May get another.

The best beer to go with reading The Economist magazine is Guiness beer. Kronenberg Blanc is a good match for the London Review of Books.

Jon McNaught has created over 40 covers for the 𝘓𝘙𝘉. In this new film he takes us through the process of making a cover and explains why the everyday scenes he captures can take on unexpected significance when they finally appear beneath the masthead.

A good news day. BBC Sounds will continue for now for international listeners. And I received my first The Times Literary Supplement paper.

Sad the BBC Sounds app is ending for international listeners. Best programming of any radio network.

Snow overnight. Rain now. Followed by plus temperatures. Dismal. But I have tea.

There is so much to love about my new London Review of Books subscription. The size of the publication. The little fold in the paper for mailing. The artist cover page. The fonts. The podcasts. The blog. And the fascinating stories. Looking forward to spending the year with all things LRB.

Subscribing to magazines and ordering books from overseas is no longer a good idea unfortunatly. Our postal system is failing. Delivery is no longer timely. Or at all some days.

Oh how I love the Classical Mixtape program on BBC Radio 3. Thirty minutes of beautiful music.

Today is a quiet day. Poking around the apartment. Listening to classical music on the radio. Thinking of diving into nature poetry books. Maybe start a journal. Hopefully my magazines will arrive today after the postal strike.

The postal strike is apparently over. Let the weekly printed word return to my mail box. It's been awhile. Preordered many books for next year. The river must flow.

The postal strike rages on. I will soon burst into flames if I don't get the magazines I paid for. I am a delicate flower now.

I love books. I buy more than I can read. Which is bonkers. Sometimes I purchase a book just because of the beautiful cover. But I also read a daily newspaper. And subscribe to several magazines. The best 2024 book list goes to The New Yorker.

I often wish I was around during the old days to experience the big jazz bands and the big orchestras.

Totally in love with the 2024 version of L.A is my Lady. The Frank Sinatra and Quincy Jones album released in 1984. The additional George Benson parts. The more expansive sound. The bonus tracks. And what a band for the sessions.

Blustery cold. Tea, chocolate, and the Saturday newspaper. Classical FM 96.3 quietly playing in every room of my apartment. Plan to listen to Daniil Trifonov's album Bach: The Art of Life. Although I may have figured that out today.

Doing my best to get through 3 large volume books about Frank Sinatra: Frank the Voice. Sinatra the Chairman. Both by James Kaplan. And Sinatra! The Song is You. A Singer's Art by Will Friedwald.

I do wish the postal strike would end. I miss my magazines. Several issues behind now. Plus I can't order any books from overseas.
