haha saame, every time i try something 3D in godot i end up turning on the half-resolution option in the viewport settings. it just looks so much more charming that way!

there's way too many games where the achievements are just inane garbage like "first jump taken!" or "bought something at a shop for the first time" which is absolutely pathetic and just leads to a lot of needless noise

yeah, achievements should you have to ACHIEVE, not shitty tokens that get handed out willy-nilly for just playing the game normally. they should be a token of appreciation from the devs for engaging with their games on a deeper level than necessary to just beat the game!

i personally hate it when i have to play a game tbh. i think all games should just give me a button that directly takes me to the final boss, beats it for me, and then rolls the credits so i don't have to actually play the game. that would be a great quality of life feature imo

couldn't you do both? i like the big thread because there's a running feed of progress that i can easily see. but you can just quote repost the highlights from that post on a weekly basis for people who like the weekly format.

also i'm seeing a lot of people who've never played HK pick up SS first due to the hype, which is really strange to me. also another problem i see is HK veterans complaining that SS controls differently to HK, which is ALSO super strange.

like as someone who loved the difficult combat and platforming sections of HK, what im hearing online about SS is making me SALIVATE thinking about how fun it would be due to how hard it seems to be. However, that won't be the case for a lot of people who just play games casually or like slower ones

i haven't played the game yet but from what i'm seeing online it seems that TC made it with a very specific audience in mind, but due to the insane amount of hype it generated it ended up getting way more "normie" players than intended, who then struggle with the game

yeah i was actually concerned that having fine-grained profiling would introduce overhead into the application too, but i thought it would still be nice to have because manually setting profiling points in the code seemed tedious.

but i'll likely go the manual route, cuz it does seem simpler.
