The rich want the people to use crypto because it is currently under-regulated compared to the larger financial system.

They're excited to rerun the 20th century banking crime greatest hits without it being illegal.

Banking regulations exist for a reason. Crypto exchanges are not FDIC-insured.

The problem isn't people not wanting to work. The problem is pay for many jobs not keeping up with inflation. When welfare payments go up with inflation, but minimum wage doesn't, eventually it'll be more profitable to not work than work a min wage job. The solution is to tie min wage to inflation!

The Democrats have been trying to get people to invest in green energy tech for years. It'll be hilarious when Trump's shitty policies accidentally result in a solar building spree. Way to own the libs, accomplishing their goal for them!

Just delete all instances of a word from a knowledge base, it's not like words have meanings or something...

That is true. I always laugh when people outsource research and engineering to China and India. Like, let's give all of our trade secrets to countries that don't enforce US IP laws, that won't backfire!

Most high-end silicon nowadays is made in Taiwan, not China.

I don't think it is the same as everything else. One of the biggest problems we're facing is income inequality.

And the growth of new technology owned by the rich is one of the main causes of income inequality. A ton of increased productivity, but the common people aren't seeing the benefits.

Strikes WORK. The 8-hour workday was won in the US and other countries during the Guilded Age, when workers reached their breaking point during a period of extreme inequality (much like today). Some violence occurred, but the economic damage inflicted by a strike won the day.

Large language models could well eliminate a lot of remaining office tedium, but in the short term, every MBA who still hasn't been replaced with a computer yet is trying to replace as many white-collar jobs with ChatGPT as they can.

The computer eliminated a ton of tedious clerical work, but allowed social media that feeds on anger and hate and perpetuates it to flourish.

Technology is political. The person who learns about technology learns about the twisted path it took to get here. Like how the industrial revolution drove productivity, but led to exploitation of factory workers. Culminating in the last Guilded Age (a lot of historians think we're in one now).

What platform is this?

If you want this but don't want to do this, try ToPoR autorouter!

Honestly I love this type of routing. Feels more artisanal than "only 90 and 45 degree traces"

The helical arrangement was certainly a nightmare to build... I am only now getting to writing control software because of it, and I started last year.

My openscad sims indicated it was the best arrangement for my desired viewing angle but I probably should have started smaller for the prototype.

Due to the spiral, each layer reaches its theta=0 start point at different times. The firmware for each LED stick is basically done; the part I'm working on now is the PC-side software to generate the output data to send to the strips.

The memory layout for my display is the same as yours. Each layer has its own ESP32-S3, and each starts outputting a horizontal layer at the theta=0 sync point. Each ESP-32-S3 stores an entire layer of LED output data.

The display for reference:

What software do you use to control the display? Building one of these and trying to figure out what to use. Would rather not engage in wheel reinventing
