If that game were ported to the Switch or Switch 2 running at native res, 60 fps and maybe with a texture resolution bump I wouldn't be surprised if it'd still hold up pretty ok.

I think I remember us playing Killzone Mercenary together back when that came out a week earlier in the EU compared to NA, and you needed EU people to get you into multiplayer lobbies for review.

Good times, still one of my favourite PS Vita games.
(staggered release dates were kind of BS though)

I hear the demand for lorry-transportable wooden homes in Russia is just exploding right now. Practically going through the roof. On fire as one might say.

It's almost as if - for a video that very well be watched on a phone or other device smaller than people typically play home console & PC games on - zooming in might really help to highlight what you're talking about. And also be a video editing tool to direct people's attention in general.

I meant to say rasterized lighting, not baked. Though that would likely have to include a lot of baked stuff. The point still stands.

Toggling ray tracing off doesn't automatically create a game with perfectly functional and artistically similar baked lighting.

You're comparing apples to oranges listing a bunch of effects that can be layered on top of an image next to ray-tracing

You keep saying your GPU is three years old, but not what that GPU actually is.

Kind of disappointing that they can't even use that new data-less key-cartridge system for the switch 2 edition content, so that at least that license transfers with the cartridge and isn't bound to an account.

Well if you look at it like this...

Can't really comment on that so much, I haven't tried using it for that.

So I'd say the statements "it helps me a lot" and "it's incapable of generating non-trivial code" can both be true at the same time.

What I don't yet see is this future where AI generates all the code you need to have a fully working program that functions as intended.

Well, I would say that github copilot autocompletion saves me a considerable amount of time. And even if larger code blocks generated aren't correct, getting an idea of functions you could use to handle some task can be helpful, especially when dealing with stuff you're less familiar with.
December 25, 2024 at 5:30 PM
Is there any evidence that people have managed to use it for that? (It certainly hasn't worked for me either)
