Travelling over the past few days to conferences, I made the mistake of downloading this movie to watch - why Amazon was promoting it!! BUT I also downloaded Twisted Metal & thats awesome!!

.... this is the most frustrating 'bad' seo - the top link is actually the content removal form, which I've clicked into so many times!! This is NOT what users want from this search, at least not usually

Random conversations with friends - just found a pic of my 'first' car - this car was given to me by my Grandpa, after he had it for many years, it would overheat, couldn't corner the tape deck didn't work but it was loved by the family what was your first?

Well Google .... enjoying the various responses, the first was right, but snap shots of the time from around the world, don't actually help. Interestingly at one point google tested only showing a single result for a week in 2018 (second photo from @rustybrick.com )

I've now started going down a bit of a rabbit hole, and if Perpexity is to be believed (AI) - since 2006 usage has been dropping year on year for the UK at least, but it has potentially gone up last year, I suspect the shift to electric cars will impact that!

Don't trust Chat GPT for SEO advice without checking it out - if you use robots.txt Google will not see the noindex, you should (typically) noindex first and then block with robots.txt.

This is my new favourite example about why JavaScript and SEO isn't as simple as some developers think it is - a huge UK supermarket has this for a large proportion of its product description tags.

(and yes, I quite fancied perogies after a trip to Poland)

What a week! It kicked off with a new client win and wrapped up in Poland at the EU Search Awards where I had the honour of presenting three well-deserved awards. I had the chance to reconnect with old friends, make new ones, and catch up with some of the best in the industry.

Wedding season seems to be here - with 4+ weddings this year... My old suits going to be rather worn out, and as a sceptical old divorced whisky drinker, I should maybe try and be more encouraging....

I love the Spotify ai DJ - but I feel like it's lost any momentum, an interactive, situational aware version, that works in gyms, driving, focusing at work, hopefully it'll improve.

Giving Gemini a chance at helping me with some travels, I've uploaded all my travel documents, told it the hotel I'm in, and had conversations about a bar to meet at before the EU search awards.

Anyone who knows Krakow ( @nataliavv.bsky.social ) good suggestions?

Wait - Ryan Reynolds was in Saved by the Bell? Literally didn't realise!! Also, I'm feeling old now

Spending most of today judging the EU Search Awards, and honestly, it’s always an honour. I’ve been involved in search for years, and every time I judge, I’m reminded just how much innovation, creativity, and strategy go into great campaigns.

Is this .... Not incredibly dodgy? Is it deliberate? Feels so incredibly wrong

Google have done this with so many products - replace a good product with a new abs improved, but missing key features replacement. Google Voice replaced by Gemini - which can't control Spotify.

But good news, it can now do the most basic function!

Yeah your Siri 2011.

Dashboards sharing referral traffic from AI are amazing but note they are indicative, a lot of traffic doesn't have a referrer - I have perplexity Pro and the referral traffic installed on my Macbook has no referrer information - so it comes as Direct.

According to SimilarWeb - this is pretty true!!

Intrigued by the selection of languages - Portuguese over Spanish for instance. (Off to take a look at the focus of the locations in SimilarWeb!)
