My best guess? Indoctrination and failure leading to frustration and anger. They succeed at hiding and live unhappily. Or they fail and feel shame. Either way some lash out. They probably tell themselves they can save a soul by bullying folks into a Christian lifestyle but it's mostly anger.

The first comment that comes to mind is that I keep hearing how courts aren't supposed to consider consequences when ruling - is this a defensible exception because of the nature of the case or can I file it away as hypocrisy?
