People getting mad @hunterw.bsky.social for doing verification (FOR FREE!) showcases the same problem Twitter had with verification, namely that people thought verification or lackthereof was some sort of status symbol when it’s really just about letting people know who someone actually is.

Migrating from X to BSKY is giving me PTSD akin to my porting a legacy engine from Visual Studio 2008 to 2017. I needed lots of therapy after that one. We'll see how this one goes. lol
