Very sad to hear…. I was lucky enough to take a seminar with MP on Horace in Vergil at Brown… he was amazing. Knowing my focus was on material culture, he even asked me to guest lecture on Augustan art/arch & literature for his undergraduate courses

“At UW-Madison and UW-Milwaukee, where professors are expected to produce more research, the mimimum load would be 12 credits per year.” Looks like we are being recognized for our R1 status, at least at the system level… Does not mean that at the uni level other forces are not at play, of course
