Very much so. Every weekend we we drive for hours to a marquee filled with strange vegetables and jars of jam/chutney. It became very competitive at times. Most of the kitchen appliances in our house were prizes from onion shows 🤣

I think it was mainly because when you had a good ‘set’ (they are judged on size, shape, uniformity), you’d want to take them to various shows to increase your chances. Made for not very fun summer holidays though 🤣

Yeah, it’s tough. We’ve been really lucky finding a supportive venue who help us out. I think the most important thing is trying to find/build a community and doing it all together.
