Gareth Evans long awaited film is his homage to the heroic bloodshed genre though he does get some gnarly hand to hand action in that he’s known for. Hardy is great and I liked the story. I felt like there were some character beats missing that would have pushed it into the next level for me.

Caught this screening last night, this movie holds a special spot for me as it was the first anime I ever saw. Quality of the transfer was good but bit blurry in some shots. It was a new dub that was……..not great. Was disappointed about that but still had a good time.

Got my wisdom teeth out yesterday and here’s what I’ve been watching while recovering so far, first time watches for everything but Mortal Kombat.

First time watch over the weekend, ashamed to say I’ve never seen it as a long time Jackie fan. Instantly made its way into the top 5 for me. Hilarious and action packed as many of his movies are but this hit different. Made me nostalgic for my trip to HK last year and want to go back soon if I can

2) Creed, I’ve been a lifelong Rocky fan and this feels like end and beginning of a journey for those characters. Instantly became one of my favorites that I usually rewatch once or twice a year.

1) Miami Vice, captivated since I saw it opening weekend. I was in the final year of my broadcast/film program and subconsciously put this movie into every project I worked on. Still influences me to this day.

Finally getting a chance to sit down and watch this, hoping it’s as good as I keep hearing. I’ve been in the mood for some traditional Kung-Fu flicks
