I don't really have a solid point here, other than feeling disgustingly jaded for my age and being tired of watching everything devolve into hyper-polarized screaming matches.

While that probably seems like a no-brainer to some, I think a large part of wresting back control of this narrative involves that gap being bridged, or at least made obvious.

News media/vloggers/bloggers/etc can exercise a lot of power with their word choices, whether they realize that or not.

Not that I'm expecting constructive dialogue between the two groups, but: I don't think folks who make things and folks using image/video generators are referring to the same concept when they say 'create' or 'creativity.'

-mind for substance I think has some part to play in the present day mess.

But I digress. I don't see anyone really articulating the 'language gap' between people who actually create things seriously and "AI artists." (Which, in and of itself is a ridiculous term that I think shouldn't be used.)

It's not hard to have an idea. It's hard to *successfully realize* an idea.

I'm someone who can't stand a lot of modern media literally because everything's so poorly written/realized. There's been a few fantastic standouts here and there, but on the whole, the mindless focus on flashy with no-

I've taken a peek at the tools and - while they're interesting, especially for things like restorative edits! - I legitimately don't understand how anyone's "realizing their vision" or "being creative" by having a computer do essentially all of the work.
