Like not to excuse a woman’s work being suppressed but Mahler did have to be hypervigilant about everything that could impact his career, because antisemitic critics were constantly on his ass about everything & he did have to be the breadwinner for a family, especially in his time.

Her music was technically suppressed because she was a woman and her career was suppressed in favour of Mahler’s conducting, as it may create competition and be bad for his career.
Contrary to popular beliefs, it wasn’t because Mahler didn’t want her to compose because she was a woman.
