I would pay good "Memory of a Tale"s for some sort of "An occasional visit from a soot-stained beetle" companion or somesuch. And the coalman too for that matter, both are such great characters I want to see more from.

I heard from a professor recently that he had identified and reported dozens of his (university BA level) students for plagiarism. He was shut down by the admin as they'd have to discipline/possibly expel too many students, and so to only report the most obvious ones, if any.

I don't think it's blind trust, but earned. They have a rep for being excellent and fair employers. There are many legitimate reasons in this thread why SAG might not be suitable or desirable for the team. They certainly owe their team a choice, but don't owe us explicit details of negotiations.

I mean if it's not your full gig you may not want to join a union that prevents you or complicates your other work (thinking here musicians also doing VA, for instance) during negotiations, or you may not even qualify. Or, given game VAs were shafted previously with AI they may be disillusioned.

Love collective bargaining but SAG isn't guaranteed entry. They'd potentially lose several existing team members if they didn't qualify, couldn't get in, or otherwise didn't wish to join SAG in particular.

If a union contract requires actors be union, and their longstanding cast (who often also have other hats within the company) don't want to be union...
Then what? Fire beloved team members and recast them? Force staff members to join a union they don't want to (or in some cases don't qualify for?)

Good lord the replies to this post are depressing. Unions are great but people apparently really can't comprehend that there is no one-size-fits-all solution and sometimes companies with EXCEPTIONAL track records deserve a little complex consideration.
