Do we all think that the Switch 2 is going to have a faster adoption rate than the Switch 1? Switch 1 had a great launch, but was really held back by the "failure" (commercially) of the Wii U. I know pre-orders are pretty much gone in the US, so it's sure to have an explosive launch.

Managed to get the Switch 2 pre-ordered last night. The entire experience was awful though. You'd think that the notes that they expected "high demand" were true and they'd have scaled up their backend to handle the demand smoothly. Walmart seems to have figured this out, their queue was nice.

Hmm, will Nintendo give us a new Mario game this year for Switch 2? I wonder if they're holding off on having it be a launch title (aside from Mario Kart) so that they can celebrate Mario's 40th anniversary. The 35th was celebrated from Sept 2020 to March 2021, so I think it's likely.

This Rookidee debut event in #PokemonGo is so awful. Niantic seems to have this game on life support hoping people will spend money on it. Maybe a shakeup in how the game works is needed.

Is anyone else a bit burnt out on Nintendo stuff lately? Like, with the console coming out soon, I just haven't felt motivated to play Switch 1 games as often. I still love Zelda, Xenoblade, Pokemon, and the other series, but perhaps I'm just tired of the lack-luster experience on Switch.

The Nintendo Music app was literally made for me. This thing is perfect. High quality songs, playlists, and it's all true to game. Excited to see more on the app!

Pokemon TCG Pocket is surprisingly fun to play. Quick battles and ripping open packs without paying money is pretty nice.

I have to say, the new Final Fantasy reveals for MTG are **really*" tempting me to start playing Final Fantasy. I've only played 7's Remake.
Any suggestions on order? I've heard so many good things I don't know where to start.

I think I'll primarily focus on Nintendo news, particularly Pokemon (since I build and own rotomlabs.net), Zelda, and Metroid.

Bahaha, no measure in place in the emulator to stop the "20fps should be the cap for this demo" issue. Wasn't this solved years ago by other emulators?
Interesting oversight in Banjo-Tooie on Switch, the demo that plays when you idle on the start screen plays far too quickly, but all the sound effects are at the correct pitch.

So, Nintendo just dropped Banjo-Tooie on Nintendo's NSO today. Guess I know what I'm going to be playing at some point this weekend. Never did get to finish it on the N64.

I have fond memories of this game, especially since grinding for shinies became one of my hobbies during the pandemic. It's not perfect, but it's certainly memorable!
Amazing, it's been 4 years today since the release of #Pokemon Sword and Shield with Gigantamax Pokemon, regionals, and "open" areas.
Fans will argue about these games for years (bland story, linear routes, etc.), but I think many look back fondly! #PokemonNews
