In September 2023, in two separate incidents, Fielder shot and killed 43-year-old Jeremy Hutcheson and 31-year-old Lluvia Robles-Banuelos along the South Platte River bike path.

DA Walsh and several members of our office joined Santa and Mrs. Claus at the Denver Police Orphans’ Fund Christmas Party. The mission of the Fund is to provide financial support for the educational needs of children of deceased or disabled Denver Police Officers.

DA Walsh was one of several community leaders who attended the Transgender Day of Remembrance at Denver’s Metropolitan Community Church. The day has been observed annually since 1999 to remember those who have been killed as a result of transphobia.

DA Walsh spoke this morning at a meeting of Cafecito, a community group dedicated to empowering Latina women in Denver. Cafecito also fosters dialogue, mentorship, and collaboration that strengthen both the Latina/o community and the city as a whole.

A plaque was also unveiled to celebrate the accomplishments of former Denver District Attorney Bert Keating, who personally, and successfully, prosecuted the case against the man responsible for the bombing.

DA Walsh was among several speakers, including victims’ family members, who yesterday helped dedicate a memorial plaque at the old Stapleton Airport tower in memory of the 44 people who died when a suitcase filled with dynamite brought down United flight 629 on November 1, 1955.

DA Walsh joined survivors and victims' families at the Route2Change event to discuss ways to prevent pedestrian and cyclist tragedies. Route2Change was founded in memory of Magnus White, a 17-year-old, nationally-renowned cyclist killed by a reckless driver in Boulder in 2023.

There are currently about 200 memorial signs throughout Denver. The Denver DA’s Office is committed to improving traffic safety and to holding people accountable if they violate our traffic safety laws.
