After engineering school, I was stoked to get an Engineer's Ring. It is a positive reminder of the long hours I put in to graudate, well as the oath to use my powers for good. Nearly 20 years after taking the oath, it didn't fit anymore, so I finally ordered a new one, and it feels much better.

I never played the video game Slay the Spire, but the board game has been great so far. I've been playing cooperatively with my kiddo, who normally takes joy in crushing me in Star Realms. It's been fun seeing her enthusiasm and learning of the combos. We survived Act I, excited for Act II.

Got the Scadinavian version of Soul Blazer to complete my collection of SB's official releases, which came with the manual. This is the only PAL version of Soul Blazer in English, but the manual is for Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish instead. Makes sense, since it is for Scandinavia.

Went into the attic above the garage tonight to investigate a leak in my kitchen, found one of the doors to the crawlspace above the kitchen open. No bears got me, just a bunch of old insulation. Got it screwed shut very well, hope that keeps the insulation ghosts in. I survived.

Run was going alright, was worried with 3 swoops from the Area 6 boss, but I clutched it in the last split with a 12-cycle Deathtoll. WR and 1st sub-1:34:00!

Kicked off a lot of rust and got a great PB today. Slowdowns were in Area 2 (no multitasking), Area 3 (only a couple light arrows for crabs before Blester), and Area 7 (early level up forced me to use a safer strat at end of first screen). Very happy, taking a break for the rest of the weekend.

41 years old today. I am thankful for great family & friends, a fantastic job, and hobbies that create content for others to enjoy/fall asleep to.
My family gave me a hoodie with custom art, excited to wear it someday at a speedrun convention (hopefully).

Got "A Gentle Rain" recently as a nice solo game to relax with. My kiddo really dug her first play last night, so I am excited for more games with her. And it all fits so nicely in that small box, very satisfying.

Switched out the SCART-MUX and Framemeister for the Extron RGB 203 rxi and Retrotink 4K, namely for the signal boost on the Extron (and they were gathering dust). Hoping it helps me have less glitching in the geometry during runs due to power.

Got a new PB in the US version tonight. Definitely have some good potential here (lots of time loss at times due to fatigue from lack of sleep and too much work), but am going back to the Japanese version to go for the "no swoop" run before I dive further in.

Earlier on in my life, I made the mistake of telling others about my diagnosis of my "learning disability" when 4 years old. Ableist insults were thrown at me as a result, like "Shut up, r...". Knowing it as anger-trigger, I have worked to get rid of these from my vocab (google helps). 1/2

My friend link_7777 stopped by last weekend. I hadn't seen him in person since 2008, so it was so nice to see him. We also cranked out a new world record in Any% Co-Op Normal in Jay & Silent Bob: Mall Brawl. Fantastic time, amazing runs!

Installing mod kits usually gives me an air of dread, that I may "let the smoke out" and have a bricked console afterwards. Thankfully, my skills from doing this a lot helped with installing the Super CIC region-free mod to my Super Famicom, works great! The In-Game Reset is very nice.
