Why does RGG have to suck now?
Thinking back, while a lot of it was cool conceptually, this game kinda sucked for the most part and I would certainly never replay it.

Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei(NES)
The first proper Megeten game, to my knowledge. Very cool mechanically but almost impossible without a detailed guide, or maybe I just suck. Very tedious anytime I had to grind to be able to fuse my demons. Barley any story. Decent basis for the series.

Digital Devil Story: Megami Tensei(NES)
The first proper Megeten game, to my knowledge. Very cool mechanically but almost impossible without a detailed guide, or maybe I just suck. Very tedious anytime I had to grind to be able to fuse my demons. Barley any story. Decent basis for the series.

I didn't actually finish this one. I played for a while and was confused. So I looked it up but no one seems to know shit. People weren't even sure if it had an ending or looped forever. I'll probably come back to it later but for now

Pretty cool to see the characters and events pictured on screen but it leaves a lot of the context out so I imagine I would be very confused if I hadn't read the novel. Love the old animation but the music sometimes does not fit.

Digital Devil Story: Warrior of the Demon City
I like how much this book builds off the first. I liked the Demon City. Set is just Loki but bigger. I still want Akemi dead but slightly less. Yumiko is a plot device again which is kinda annoying. I like the higher stakes.

feels a little sudden and unearned especially after all of the horrible shit he did.
Overall, while I didn't love this story it was at least not boring and it definitely got me interested on how the rest of this massive series would build off of it.

-just fragile. I hate Akemi Nakajima with my heart and soul but he is still an interesting character to follow. Yumiko Shirasagi is a cool character when she's introduced but she kinda stops being a character after a while and Akemi's sudden empathy for her feels a little sudden and unearned-
