I think you’re right, though, to point out that LLMs are probability machines and they don’t really “know” anything. But I’m not sure, on the whole, how excludable we are from that judgement. We absorb things from the cacophonous media envt and that’s really unpredictable and random!

I think there’s a LOT of ppl who speak with undue confidence and we may have words for them but a lot of them have important jobs. So if we’re questioning the usefulness of LLMs bc they get things wrong, we ought to compare that to how often humans are confidently wrong. Which is a lot of the time.

yes-i think that framing makes being cis and having a cisnormative body the implicit default, which, ofc, it is, to these people who want to erase transness. i guess what im saying is that transness is evidence of the complexity of gender and human bodies
