I agree with your assessment of what the press is meant to do. I agree the press should not do what you complain about. I'm not convinced you've found evidence that the press, as a whole, is as guilty as you seem to judge them.

Just because you don’t see it in your feed doesn’t mean journalists aren’t doing this work as they’ve been trained to reporting the answers factually, and not building their stories around themselves as questioners. Let the commentators do that as they comment on the news.

A news.google.com search for "Trump MRI" reveals the usual sources are indeed covering the story. The press is not the enemy here. Share to boost the reach of any story (or editorial) you want your followers to see, and train your algorithm to give you more like that. Don't just complain!
