Well, I strayed too far outside my comfort zone and I'm not gonna finish it on time. I'm still glad I tried and I learned a lot, but rushing it to meet the deadline is gonna ruin the drawing and burn me out.
I still want to finish it, but for now I need a break. Too much going on in September.

The Selaco art contest will probably take most of my time this month but I wanna try and make a Lea character sheet too, or at least a full-body and outfit reference

There's a constant war in my brain as I draw and paint between the harmful perfectionism of "it has to be impeccable" and the artistic side of "there is no humanity in perfection"
The perfectionist side is, unfortunately, much more persuasive. It's by far my biggest flaw.

there's a school of thought that I don't ascribe to that the artist's hand should be invisible
But some of this, I'm seeing pen and brush strokes for the first time, like traces of a ghost. I can feel his hand moving on the page. These are, to me, holy works, and to see his humanity is humbling.
