2 months-ish of work in 23 mins: the making of my 2024 Halloween shoot video is out! youtu.be/9O0K0nmoNs8?...

Digital #Instax shots from Salem, MA a few days ago. I didn't realize how close everything in the Northeast was and came here for a day while I was in Maine last week. It's not surprising, but disappointing, that witch hunts still happen to this day in a different form

Here’s another one of the dresses I made for my #Halloween shoot this year. I wanted a slinky, sleek gown and was inspired by Barbara Stanwyck’s outfits in Baby Face and Edward Molyneux’s dresses

6️⃣ The Northman (2022) dir. Robert Eggers. Honestly, this is my least favorite Eggers movie. The story is simple (it's basically Hamlet but with Vikings), and I just don't think some of the cgi imagery worked for me even though I know what the purpose was. Nicole Kidman's scenes were awesome though.

5️⃣ The Lighthouse (2019) dir. Robert Eggers. This disconcerting slow-burn in which two lighthouse keepers (wickies) start to lose their minds was a visual treat to me. Rewatchable for the various interpretations of what happened in this one.

4️⃣ The Witch (2015) dir. Robert Eggers. This is probably my favorite witch movie and favorite Eggers' movie. I appreciated the historical accuracy in showing how young women could be accused of witchcraft in 17th century Puritan families, and the allure of living deliciously.

3️⃣ Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979) dir. Werner Herzog. Isabelle Adjani is the perfect gothic horror damsel in this movie and this movie is a must-watch for gothic horror fans. The beautiful and ghostly, empty environments add to the lonely and eerie feeling of this movie and I enjoyed the darker ending

2️⃣ Shadow of the Vampire (2000) dir. E. Elias Merhige. This movie is a "behind-the-scenes" of the filming of Murnau's film, and while it's obviously fictionalized, the premise of the director hiring an actor who may or may not be a real vampire (Willem Dafoe) is just too amusing.

1️⃣ Nosferatu (1922) dir. FW Murnau. I always think the most amusing bit of history regarding this silent film is that this was an unauthorized production of Bram Stoker's Dracula and Stoker's heirs sued and demanded all copies of this film get destroyed. Luckily for us, some prints remained!

I've been looking forward to Nosferatu since like January when it was announced and in anticipation, I *think* I've watched most of the movies that are relevant to Robert Eggers' version that is releasing on Christmas day, so here's a thread and please let me know if I should watch anything else!

Process of another dress I made this year for my annual #Halloween shoot. The final dress changed from the initial sketch concept since I didn’t think that silhouette was the best for this fabric. The veil was made by me too!

Travis Banton COOKED with Marlene Dietrich’s outfits in “The Devil is a Woman” (1935)

She changed outfits every scene, it was such a visual treat

Here’s a Regency-era dress I made in a week earlier this year in May for a haunted Bridgerton tea party! Everything was made from fabric I already had, including the lace gloves.

It’s been 5 days but I am still thinking about the bathroom in Helter Skelter (2012)

I saw somebody else share this feature you can add to your profile which is really cool! All my posts about stuff I've made will be under the "fashion" tag, and wardrobe styling will be "wardrobe".
