No matter what the detained man's offenses were or what he had on him, this is not the way to arrest him, or anyone else. This ICE agent put innocent bystanders' lives in danger by waving around a gun at them.

This is a tragedy.

Elizabeth Warren tried to extend the July 2024 panel review on the medals awarded at Wounded Knee. Stakeholders, especially Natives, historians & academic scholars, had no opportunity to provide documentation or perspective.

Panel to review the evidence on medals awarded from Wounded Knee had a July 26, 2024 deadline. The public was notified on July 24. Stakeholders--tribes, descendants of victims, historians, academic institutions--didn't have time to submit their perspectives.
