Frankly, if you're writing off the concept of opsec as paranoid cosplay you're naive. People get doxxed, arrested, straight up murdered (thinking of Ferguson activists in particular here). We're don't want to fearmonger but we need to be realistic with people about what could happen

HOWEVER, the proper response to these problems is to try and combat misinformation, build trust, and learn from people who have been doing this shit longer than you have. Not to abandon the concept of security entirely.

Interesting times, man

Abolishing ICE is a good step and something we should be advocating for, but it's not enough. The end goal is the abolition of police and prisons entirely.

I'm not talking about this to play trauma Olympics with anyone. The point is that when I say ACAB I mean it literally.

As long as I'm going down this rabbit hole, the arresting officers also
1) gave me a concussion so severe I blacked out for 20 min and had to be hospitalized, then
2) mocked me to my face while I waited for CT scan results to see if my brain was hemorrhaging

I'm studying accounting and I experience this exact phenomenon at least once a week

People are scared, and rightfully so. And yet they keep showing up for each other. Honor their courage and sacrifice by doing the same.
