Here’s one of quite a few I’ve worked on. One from the sapwood
rings of a 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 building timber, and one from the heartwood of the same core. The timber is from a tree that was at least 260 years old when felled. The outer 99 rings contain a few (almost unmeasurable) sections and don’t date.

Allt Lanlas Llanerchaeron estate 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿. First trees I did dendro on back in 2001 (+few times since). Most oaks planted late 1770s. A few larch date to 1840s.Wondering why @nationaltrust.bsky.social seem to be cutting the ivy from the trees. It’s not harming the oaks + ivy is of high ecological value?

Sweet chestnut near Lampeter 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 . One of around 15 trees in these woods I took increment cores from in 2017. This tree has an inner ring of 1927, with at least 10 yrs more to pith. Average ring width of 0.45cm, inner few rings are 1cm+
