Piraeus (Greece). An Egret🪶 spotted on the harbour foreshore last week. I also saw small shoals of fish, so it surely found its Friday dinner.

Spotted in Piraeus (Greece). 🪶 I guess it's a sandpiper, but I'm not sure which. It wandered the rocks, while I enjoyed a G&T on the harbour. One week ago.

Had the privilege to give a keynote at Conference “Cogge sive navis magna: Medieval Ships in the Baltic Sea Region“ superbly organised by the good folks at Eesti Meremuuseum. Talked dendro and shipwrecks for a whole hour. Excellent speakers throughout.

Just joined the Blue Sky club. Starting off with a photo of oak tree rings from a ship's plank. I'll be posting about past timber trade and archaeology of timber structures, mostly (might add photos of my cats now and again too).
