NIMBYs already got the protected bike lanes through Capitol Hill cancelled and now they're coming for the sharrows. Meeting tomorrow to fight back. #bikeden

We send our thoughts to the family and friends of the person killed biking this weekend.

Unfortunately, this crash was predictable. Neighbors have been asking for street safety infrastructure upgrades to W 14th Ave for years.

We are thinking of Denver City employees right now. Thank you all for the work you do.

We want to congratulate @yimbydenver.bsky.social on a successful campaign to eliminate parking minimums in Denver.

Housing Policy is Transportation Policy.

If Mayor Mike Johnston wants to get the community of people that care about sustainable transportation and safer streets on board with this bond, he should add protected bike lane projects to this bond, not words pretending like he is.

With permission from Salih's family, DBL is organizing a ghost bike dedication at the site of the crash (W 38th Ave & Tejon St) on Saturday, 8/2, at 11 AM. Please join us, especially if you are a community member in District 1, and share with your neighbors […]

Shout out to the bicycle community member letting the Mayor know that we need more bike lane funding in the Bond while he was walking to an event downtown today. We see you. Keep up the good work #bikeden!

The bicycle lobby is all powerful.

Another crash. Pickup truck driver drove into the bike lane & hit a person on a scooter and dragged them. This road was supposed to be upgraded to a protected bike lane, but once again DOTI leadership & the Mayor have not prioritized the work to make it safer. 1st Ave & Knox Ct. #bikeden

A driver killed a woman on a bike tonight on W 38th Avenue. This is the second fatal hit and run bike crash on W 38th Avenue in the last few years.

This is also at an intersection along a street scheduled to become a protected bike lane until the local city councilor intervened, so there's that.

Mayor Johnston on the campaign: I won’t delay building out bike lanes.
Mayor Johnston last week: I am delaying building out bike lanes.

Call your city council members and the two at large council members today. The mayor has proposed reducing dedicated bike lane funding in the bond package to $0. It’s time we fight back for sustainable and safe transportation.

Your occasional reminder that the Mayor and DOTI leadership got rid of a protected bike lane here to enhance the valet parking experience for steakhouse patrons while making this bike lane more dangerous for anyone that rides it on a bike or scooter.

Our thoughts go out to the person on a bike that was hit by a driver today.

This is what happens to your stock price when you mess with the Market Street Protected Bike Lane. Don’t want your stock to go down 7%? Don’t mess with the bike lane STK. The Bike Lobby is all powerful.

We’ve heard Mayor Johnston is proposing to reduce bicycle funding in our upcoming GO Bond by 95%!!! That means hardly any new bike lanes in #denver for the next decade.
June 21, 2025 at 12:06 PM
Thank you Mayor Johnston and DOTI for “upgrading” our bike lanes. They work so well to keep trucks from parking in them now that you’ve removed the flex posts. And pedestrian can see so well into the shops now without the flex posts being there.

@ibikecommute.bsky.social catching the Denver Police in a very @tomflood.bsky.social image today in downtown Denver.

Bikes lanes aren't parking lanes.
