THE SIGNATURE IS REAL!!!! NO WAY!!! Like a lot of my collection treasures, I just kind of stumbled into having this?! Sugimori signed a contract some years ago saying he wouldn't sign anymore either, so that signed items retain their value. So I really got lucky here! I'm still kind of in shock.

I was curious if they knew something I didn't, so I looked into it more and Sugimori /did/ sign sometimes like how it's written on my card, like these examples. (again, not my photos)

The main way Ken Sugimori autographed cards was different from what I have, and the card was in a played/scratched up condition so I still thought it was a fake. Posted an example of his typical signature as an example- not my photo.
But somebody on Twitter DMed me asking if I would sell mine.

So a few years ago I found a signed Arcanine card on eBay for a suspiciously low price. They were selling other cheap random signed memorabilia from other fandoms and things too, so I thought for sure it was a fake signature. I thought it was funny and bought it and shared it on social media. 🧵
