A sitting US President rolled out the literal red carpet to a man currently under indictment by the International Criminal Court for crimes against humanity. This is truly beyond the pale.

It’s hard today to joyously celebrate Independence Day when we are currently so far from the principles of liberty and justice for all. If we cannot today celebrate the reality, let’s acknowledge the beauty of the vision. Let’s recommit to working together to put our country back on the right path.

This is what our government is doing in our name. This is a real post, gleefully celebrating unimaginable and likely illegal treatment of detainees. The tent camp rapidly built in the middle of the Everglades, in summer heat, for detainees given no due process. Get fired up for the 2026 midterms.

Today we remember D-Day, when our soldiers landed in Europe to fight back against fascism and xenophobia. Today, we are all called to resist the fascism spreading outward from the Trump administration.
