Quick analysis on what might be the first fully counted region in Namibias parliamentary election.

Omaheke

2024
SWAPO - 41,969 (78.8%)
IPC - 6,813 (12.8%)
AR - 2,787 (5.2%)

2019
SWAPO - 12,391 (53.1%)
NUDO - 3,899 (16.7%)
PDM - 3,383 (14.5%)

I’m genuinely baffled at these numbers

Thanks to ERC Africa for putting this together. As of now, it seems like VP Nandi-Ndaitwah will be able to win in the first round. Interestingly, SWAPO is running behind their presidential candidate in the legislative election but opposition is even more split in those results

Not seen it posted here but Africa Elects’ coverage of the election in Namibia after 9% of votes counted shows a decrease in SWAPO dominance but no real threat to their majority.

Based on what I can tell, the region that has the most counting done is the SWAPO stronghold of Kavango East in Namibias parliamentary election

SWAPO - 57.3% (80.7% in 2019)
IPC - 14.9% (did not contest)
PDM - 8.4% (6.1%)
APP - 5.9% (7.2%)

Another partial region count in Namibia. This time in Khomas.

2024 election so far vs 2019 election results

SWAPO - 52% (48%)
IPC - 28% (27% for the previous opposition party DPM)
LPM - 3% (8%)

Namibia parliamentary election results

Preliminary results in Kavango East (SWAPO friendly territory) with 2024 vs (2019) show further erosion in vote share. About 10% of the vote seems to be in here atm.

SWAPO - 48% (81%)
PDM - 16% (6%)
IPC - 14% (did not contest)
APP - 12% (7%)

More counting in Hardap showing some more positives for the Landless Peoples Movement (LPM). Hardap was the best region for LPM in 2019 and they’re now neck and neck there. Probably won’t be enough to threaten SWAPOs majority but a lot of counting left

Now (2019)

SWAPO - 38% (43%)
LPM - 38% (29%)

Some more small results out of Namibia. This time from Karas. Small erosions in SWAPO’s National Assembly vote share. So far the regions that have been counted are also where SWAPO has historically performed poorly

2024 vs 2019 so far

SWAPO - 36% (45%)
LPM - 35% (28%)
IPC - 14% (did not contest)

Very early results from Namibia show more erosion in SWAPOs vote share. Only results so far are out of the Harap region. Comparison of 2024 vs 2019 so far.

SWAPO - 37% (43%)
LPM - 28% (29%)
IPC - 13% (did not contest)

Overall small decline in SWAPOs worst region. Only fraction of votes counted
