Working with transparency, we can fake a lot of effects and make it ambiguous when parts are 3D rendered vs. sketched - especially when not in motion (although, these look really cool in motion). But I do need a pixel or nearest filter on the face image to make it more similar to the 3D outlines

(Also making it appear flat on a 3D mesh was a special kind annoying... I have pages of geometric diagrams for what was ultimately very basic trigonometry)

The head is actually 9 2D images rendered when viewed from the correct angles (with wiggle room) using the shader from earlier.
Honestly, it looks surprisingly good at many distances with and without perspective, for a flat image.
