So you're probably too young to appreciate this, but the Right™ has always been bloviating that we're in the middle of a modern Weimar, and when they take total and complete control like the patriots they are they will commit to a purge of all those they see as undesirables for being 'pushed around too far', for all the pronouns in emails, hair dye and piercings, and seeing a non-white person in an advert. All that liberal decadence shoved down their throats, or so they put it. So they see it as progressive excess that will conform to some historic cycle and reined in, like sun after rain. I actually think the opposite is true, and I've thought this for a while now. I think that "liberal excess" is actually the drops spurting free from a crumbling conservative dam that has long since actually held a grip on the wider hegemonic culture, and we're going to see a flood of progressive values, far more than any coked-up ben garrison tattoo. They're going to lose, and their going to lose huge. They just don't know it yet, and still think they're going to win 'the culture war'.

I'm still deciding on the what's for how I'm intending to use this account. I have a number of hobbies, pursuing an academic interest, I do art.

In the meantime while I mull that over, I just going to do a running commentary watching Revolutionary Girl Utena.
